Matt. 6:11, "Give us this day our daily bread"and Matt. 6:34, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow," tell us how to pray and not to worry. As the new year dawns may we remember not to dwell on our yesterdays with their mistakes and cares. Yesterday is forgiven and forgotten. We cannot erase what we said or did, but praise God He can! Our tomorrows with possible burdens and poor performance is beyond much of our control, but we know the sun will rise either in splendor or clouds (God only knows); yet today is what Jesus said to pray for. Today is not for remorse or bitterness. Today is for trust in the One who made us.
